Description: Up for sale here is this AWH-048 amplifier board rebuild set for a Pioneer SX-1250. This is all the parts you need to rebuild BOTH Pioneer SX-1250 amplifier boards. Over time the amp boards start developing issues with transistors and capacitors, and sometimes completely blow up. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes all 8 capacitors, all 22 transistors (including drivers), all 18 diodes, and all 4 trimmers. It does NOT include the big white emitter resistors (available here), any other resistors, or any output transistors. I have new OnSemi MJ21195G/MJ21196G outputs listed here if you need them. Each amp board uses 4 outputs (2 pairs), and you should replace all 4 on the channel if you are replacing any. Please don't buy any of the fake Chinese output transistors on eBay--those are counterfeit and will blow up. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are Nichicon VY, Nichicon PW, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, the trimmers are new Bourns trimmers, and the transistors/diodes are Fairchild/Onsemi and are the correct subs for the original transistors/diodes. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. Frankly, "recapping" is a waste of time if you're not going to replace the transistors as well. A lot of times the transistors age worse than the caps, so you should definitely change out the transistors while you're in there. If you're having amp board issues, it's very likely to be a transistor issue. If your amplifier board has actually "blown up" and you see smoke marks and blackened components, those are most likely resistors and will need to be replaced as well. I will include a detailed five-page instruction sheet that also explicitly details how to set voltages on the stabilizer board and amp boards, but this is a fairly complicated job, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. This is an advanced-level rebuild, so if you do not have much experience working on vintage gear, you should buy this kit and give it to your tech. You will also need heat-sink compound for the heat-sinked transistors, you will need a multimeter with mini-grabber leads, a wood pencil with eraser, and a dim-bulb tester with a 100W bulb. This kit may not fix your SX-1250 if it has other issues, but it will definitely help it run better. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $5, and international is $18, no matter what quantity you buy. All my small parts are set up for combined shipping, so just use the "add to cart" feature and then check out all at once, and it will combine shipping. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 30 different values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, new 250v yellow film crossover capacitors, and more. Just use "add to cart" on everything you want and then check out for combined shipping.
