Description: Pinch Pot By Teresa Castro & Art By J. Benjamin Pena THE LAST KUMEYAAY. I am selling an all original pinch pot made by Teresa Castro who is from the linguistic group PAI PAI which are indigenous people to North America. In addition to the pot is a signed and numbered 17/200 art work by J. Benjamin Pena which he created in honor of Teresa Castro. Teresa Castro herself has not learned how to write, so she often signs her pieces with the letters T.C and/or with an image of a pine cone. The pine cone is what she uses to fuel her fires in the process of firing her posts. On this numbered print, it not only has the information and authentic signature by the artist, but Teresa Castro herself signed the print with her legendary pine cone image. Due to shipping issues, this art work will be rolled and placed into an art tube for shipping purposes, so you will need to provide your own frame. I am also including a genuine image of Teresa Castro and her daughter. This photo was taken in the late 1980s. The photo has been laminated onto a piece of paper with a bit of information about Teresa Castro. In the photo, you can see Teresa with her hundreds of pine cones while also holding one of her wedding vases/pots. The 3 items offered really offer a full story and add to the overall interest. All of these items were given to me in the late 1980’s by a gentleman who knew the artist J. Benjamin Pena. At that time, the art work alone was selling for $500.00. Please see the many provided photos for item images and measurements. Buyer pays shipping which is Shipped with USPS Priority Mail $16.95.
