Description: Piloting, Seamanship And Small Boat Handling By Charles F. Chapman 1958-59 Edition | A Practical Treatise Dealing with Those Branches of Motor Boaring withWhich Every Yactsman Should be Familiar | A Complete Illustrated Course on Small Boat Work with Many Suggested Questions and Problems to Be Solved This book is SO well done, it makes me wish I needed to keep it! I found this beauty in a collection I found in an old lake lodge that was once the summer home of New Hampshire's 64th governor, Francis Parnell Murphy who served from 1937-1941. The Lodge—as it's locally referred to—was also once a boys summer camp, and after that a private resident. The Lodge was made of local logs and there are multiple smaller matching buildings for the keepers to live in, but it had been uninhabited regularly for over thirty two years before its new owners decided to restore it to its former glory while upgrading its amenities for tourists to the area. The books I acquired are a delight to peruse and I often find myself wondering what it would have been like in the 1950s, at the heyday of this property to sit on the front porch and read with the lake as a beautiful backdrop. ~ ~ ~ Thank you for viewing this book from my curated collection, I find books in interesting places often rescuing them from homes where the executors don’t know what to do with them. It brings me great satisfaction to get these books into the hands of people who will give them a good home.
