This cactus has triangular-shaped stems, hairy and reddish areolas with central yellowish thorns. Pfeiffera ianthothele has mauve or white-pink flowers that are 2 cm long. The red fruit are small and round. Pfeiffera ianthothele goes by the synonyms Lepismium ianthothele and Cereus ianthothele. The cultivation of Pfeiffera requires a very porous soil composed of peat and sand fertilized soil. The exposure will be half or half shade, but always in a very bright position with regular watering.
