We found this piece to be very solid with the glass bottom securely fitted with tight seams. Our time period approximation was most likely on the conservative side. This tray could easily be from the early 1900s. You'll notice a couple of small repairs that have been done over the years. However, you have to look close because they were definitely professionally done. Being that the tray curves out from the bottom ro the top, the measurements at the base (glass level) are 24.75"L x 16"W. There are 4 padded felt feet for each corner, so it won't scratch any delicate surfaces. There are two handles to make it easier to carry.
