Description: The ORIGINAL Faball 3-D Offset Blazing Violet Hammer 16 lbs. 1.5 Drill(current span approx 5 7/8" with a 3/4" counterbalance hole 90 degrees right of center) Well used but still in excellent condition. No major dings, chips, burns or cracks.Could use a resurfacing. *Recently cleaned for photos hence the minor discoloration. Anyone who knows this ball knows the unique urethane formula used for the coverstock is very "temperamental" to changes in temperature, moisture and oil buildup. When cold it starts to get blotchy. Get a drop of water on it and it does the same. Too much lane oil buildup and it begins to get darker. The evenly applied heat from the friction of a good resurfacing always brings it back to normal. Hard for me to say goodbye to this ball as it has been my favorite for a long time. If you've ever heard anyone tell stories or listened to some of the "supposed" legends about this ball let me tell you, they're all true. Bowling ball manufacturing hit its highest point in the mid '90s when John Fabanich designed this ball and has never been equaled since. In my opinion this is the best ball ever made by a wide margin. It can be used on just about any conditions and almost any pattern. You've heard some balls be described as "very forgiving," well this ball is practically self correcting. Miss a few boards inside and it'll sail on through the mids and still hit the pocket square. Miss a little outside, watch it come back from no man's land and still manage to trip the corner pins. The secret is the coverstock's ability to transfer energy. When this ball hits the pocket, no matter what the entry angle, it seems to just cut right through the good ol' 1-3-5-8(or 9) line while creating enough pin action to scramble the entire rack to the point where absolutely nothing is left standing. It literally make you look like a miracle worker, or that you are using telepathy on the pins. In my 35+ years of bowling I've had more 800's, 300's and 299's with this ball than I can count. I've owned a few over the years, this particular one I've had for about 25 years but it's time for it to go to a new home. Sold as pictured. Comes with a free ball holder cup.
