Original Martian surface photograph from the NASA/JPL Laboratory and printed for research in the early 1980s on Mars surface processes. The Martian landscape with boulders sticking out of the drifting sand dunes and distant horizon in the late afternoon light. Thus, a one-of-a-kind photograph and not very common (most of these were destroyed at the end of the project). Note: this image has a single data error (loss of data in transmission). The image is a reversed positive photograph - attempting to focus on the boulders and sand - you can tell because the atmosphere at the horizon is dark.
