Description: Original, probably rare, B & O Railroad Ticket Office cardstock sign, for route through Parkersburg West Virginia. Agents across bottom are all listed as Cincinnati OH (That's how I figured out it was B&O, unless my research was wrong). Based on my knowledge of the printing process and the depth of the type impressions into the thin cardstock this could be early 1870s. The bridge for this line was completed in 1871.This measures approx. 12" x 6-1/2". Ink is brown on a tan thin cardstock. See Images. This one is nicer than the previously sold one (last one I have). This shows wear and stains, somewhat brittle. Some yellow staining at top center. Left edge has two 1/2" tears neatly repaired on back with archival repair tape. Water staining on top right corner evident on reverse. B1-15 I started selling on here in 1998. I actively listed till around 2013. Then allowed the listings to die a slow death. Last sale was in 2021. After a 10+ year absence from listing on here due to burnout, I have decided to return. My accumulations of items have grown since I stopped listing. I have in excess of 50000 items to list. 90+ percent of it is ephemera and paper items. I do NOT sell reprints or reproductions. I always combine shipping either by refunding excess shipping or sending invoice with adjust shipping if you choose not to pay first.
