Description: You are bidding on an Early 20th Century (probably 1930s)Wooden Slatted Seat & Back Folding Chair(PRICE SHOW is for ONE (1) CHAIR) I picked these up at a garage sale being held by a vintage meeting hallHere in the Pacific Northwest we have what are called Granges....they are local community meeting places that have been around for YEARSThese came from the grange and were used as seating "back in the day"This is a vintage wooden folding chair with slatted seat and backPlenty of signs of wear and age but that is what makes them so specialTiny paint splatter, scuffs, rubs, stains and scratches....wonderful vintage conditionSeveral have writing on the bottom of the seat that says..."GYM....etc"I had similar chairs that had a patent date of 1934 so I would guess these are probably 1930's or earlierEach chair is fully functional and actually pretty comfortable to sit in Measurements on each chair are as follows....Ground to top of seat back - 33"Ground to seat - 18"Seat - 14.75" wide x 12.5" deepChair Frame width at feet - 17"Seat to Top of Chair Back - 18"Chair feet are spread front to back - 20" apart The chairs are the SAME...same construction, same dimensions, etc. The seat and seat backs are comprised of a frame with 6 slats...each slat approximately 1 3/4" wideSeat bottom and back have a metal "tab" that slides in a slot when opened and closed to keep seat aligned as well as to give additional supportThere is also a metal hinge on the sides attached to the seat and back piece2 metal rods travel from left to right through the chair back top and towards the feet (see pics)Well built and built to last....pretty sure the wood is beechThey fold up like a standard folding chair...seat lifts and folds against the back portionChair is flat when folded which would allow for convenient storage in a tight space...or they could be stacked The pictures do a much better job of describing this item than I ever could and are considered part of the descriptionIf you have any questions or need any additional information regarding this item, please contact me PRIOR to bidding Pictures are of the ACTUAL ITEMS that you are bidding onI took several pictures to give you a good ideaof just how COOL and how COLLECTIBLE this item is!
