Description: This is a vintage OEM GM manual transmission flywheel for internally balanced Small and Big Block Chevy engines. This flywheel is the smaller diameter version with 153 teeth on the ring gear. This will fit all internally balanced Small and Big Block Chevy engines from 1955-1986. This includes 265, 283, 302, 327, 350, 396, and 427 engines. Please confirm your specific application based on the casting number and ring gear size. The casting number is 3791021 as shown. There is no date on this wheel. There is a "3" cast which I believe may be the date of the year. I believe these undated units are from the 50's. Like other classic car drivetrain components, the parts need to be the correct part number and date in order to be considered number's matching. Items like flywheels did not used to be looked at as important in regards to part numbers and date codes. As the hobby has progressed, parts like this flywheel are considered part of the package in order for a vehicle to be full number's matching. Don't miss this real deal original example. This flywheels is a real deal original GM production line part and is a great core for refurbishing. All threads are in good condition as shown. The ring gear has some wear with no missing teeth. The clutch contact surface has is clean. That said, the flywheel should still be resurfaced which is part of any standard clutch job. I decided to leave the resurfacing to the buyer since it will be fresh when you are ready to install and some shops like to do the resurfacing in conjunction with any balancing that is being done.
