Along the way, it travels through Gastonia, Newton, Hickory, and Lenoir, as well as the Blue Ridge Mountains, before the route continues on into eastern Tennessee. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of North Carolina long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector's market.
