Description: Offered is a good full plate tintype portrait measuring about 6.5 inches by 8.5 inches. This appears by the sitter's dress to date to the 1870s or perhaps the 1880s. This tintype is hand painted to add color and create a more painterly portrait (see pictures). Condition overall is quite good - there are just some areas in the corners where the portrait must have been mounted in an album or a frame. All in all a nice and scarce full-plate tintype!
