Printed by the American Bank Note Company of New York, on relatively heavy weight, white wove paper with horizontal mesh, white (almost colorless) gum. This very popular issue includes some of the finest engraved stamps ever produced, anywhere. Excellent color and crisp appearance, well centered within balanced margins. Mint, never-hinged original gum. Exceptional, fault-free example of this iconic early Newfoundland stamp. The 2023 edition of the Walsh Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue indicates a catalogue value of $20.00 USD for a mint, never-hinged example of this stamp.
