Description: This listing is for an old vintage round dime tzedakah box from the New York City Yeshiva "Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem". This is one of the oldest yeshivas in the city. They moved to their address listed on the side of the box 145 East Broadway in the early 1900s. According to a New York Times article the yeshiva was involved in a money laundering scandal in the 1980s. This is a unique round "tzedakah box" for dimes only. It measures 3 3/8" x 7/8". In English it reads: "MESIVTHA TIFERETH JERUSALEM 145-147 Broadway, New York 2, N.Y. A Dime a Day Will HELP Feed, clothe and educate the children of our Yeshiva." In Yiddish it reads: "מתיבתא תפארת ירושלים העלפט נאהרען און קליידען די ארימה קינדער פון אונזער ישיבה" This is in wonderful estate condition. Please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee. I found an example of this listed online in the collection of the Cincinnati Judaica Fund at https://www.cincinnatijudaicafund.com/Detail/objects/680/representation_id/2732
