Description: Netherlands Solid Silver Box Dutch Kettle with Lid Mark PL with a 3Presented is a great ring or trinket box in the shape of a minniature Dutch Kettle, lidded bowl or basket on three legs. It is marked on the bottom with a makers mark of P.L with two numbers beneath the second visible as a 3. It has a slip on lid, a rotating handle and three small feet on the bottom. I believe this piece to be marked for Netherlands 833 fine silver. American standard sterling silver is 925 fine so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. It is an interesting piece with only some dings in the bottom, no monogram, a scratched identity or stock mark of 505 above a 3 on the bottom next to mark, a slight bend in the handle and some fine scratches from use and care. It is a great piece for the silver or jewelry collector and an excellent piece for display.
