Description: Netherlands: Mobilization Cross 1914-18 and Mobilization Cross 1939. 1) Mobilization Cross 1914-18, bronze cross instituted on 1 August 1924 by the National Committee to Commemorate the Mobilization of 1914, and awarded to all members of the Dutch armed forces mobilized during World War I. The Dutch successfully remained neutral during the First World War. Cross is in near extremely fine condition, on the original ribbon, with the original fork suspension; maker-marked “B” on reverse. 2) Mobilization Cross 1939, bronze cross created on August 11, 1948, and awarded to military personnel that served during the mobilization from April 1939, but were not eligible for the War Commemorative Cross. The reverse bears an excerpt of the Dutch National Anthem "DEN VADERLANT GHETROUWE" (Loyal to the Fatherland). Cross is in extremely fine condition, on the original ribbon; maker-marked “FS.INV/KON.
