Native American Style Flute - Petroglyph Series / Basketmaker theme

Description: Hand made Custom Flute of my own design. This flute is the fourth of a new series of flutes I call my "Petroglyph Series." Each flute will be one of a kind and will feature wood burned petroglyphs symbols that are reproductions of actual Anasazi, Fremont, or Pauite petroglyphs. One of my hobbbies is to hunt for 1000+ year old petroglyphs and photograph them. To date I have over 2000 images to use. Another feature will be to use only Western Red Cedar for these flute with only natural wood exterior. Blocks will be of my own design, but look like native blocks from over 100 years ago. This flute is in the Key of A#4 with 5 finger holes and minor pentatonic tuning. The Key of A# is a mid range flute, which are very popular and some of the easiest playing. 16.5" in length. 7/8" diameter bore. Sound Chambers are hand carved with a scorp and coated with shellac to seal from moisture. Exterior of the flute is hand planed with antique hand planes and hand sanded.I wood burned 5 petroglyph symbols replicating actual petroglyphs located in Rosey Canyon in Arizona. I visited this remote place a few months ago and photographed hundreds of Ancient Puebloan petroglyphs.Old traditional style block tied on with a white leather thong.Made from Western Red Cedar with 3 coats of shellac to protect and enhance the exterior.Flute was tuned with burning rods.A well tuned and really nice sounding flute.
