Tips are heat treated and hardened alloy steel. Shafts run all the way through handles. The shafts are plated with the tips left untreated with a black finish allowing better gripping of fasteners. Shafts have hex nuts near the ferrules for situations requiring the use of a wrench to loosen/tighten fasteners. Handles are stained and varnished European beech and have a triangular cross section for optimal gripping. Set comes in a wood presentation box.
