Description: A Shower Girl for April, all bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Doll of the Month. Original gown with spring flower design, trimmed with lace and blue cording . Matching lace on blue felt bonnet. Original pantalets beneath the gown. The dress is fastened with a safety pin, as was typical of the 1940s era Nancy Anns. Painted black slippers. See photos. Doll is cleaned, arms restrung. Dress is cleaned and pressed. Replaced missing Umbrella handle and blue ribbon trim on the umbrella. The sleeves of her bodice were shredded, likely from small hands dressing and undressing a favorite doll. For this reason, I added lace caplet sleeves to the bodice and reinforced the area. Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls were created by Nancy Ann Abbott, an amazing entrepreneur and designer. The bisque dolls were manufactured in the late 1930s through 1940s. Later came plastic dolls.
