Nakamichi R-1

Description: This is a Nakamichi R-1/CP-1 system with speakers. Condition is used. Nice compact system, it’s about 11” in width, so it’s perfect for small spaces. The unit, while small, packs plenty of punch. Both left and right channels sound very good, with no static or distortion. The receiver (R-1) has an am/fm tune. It caught all local fm stations with the included antenna. It has 2 aux inputs, one in the front and one in the back. The cd/cassette (CP) player works good. On the cd section, cds play fine with no skipping. The only issue is the cd tray won’t stay open. It opens fine, but it closes right away. Simply hold it in place while you either put in a cd or take one out, and you’ll be alright. The cassette section plays fine at the correct speed. It ff, rw, stops and ejects fine. Sound quality in cassette is good too. It came with the original remote control, unfortunately it doesn’t work with the unit. The batteries were corroded inside, that’s the way I got it. Tried cleaning it with some contact cleaner to no avail. I’m not sure if it’s the remote or the sensor on the unit not working. I’m including a set of speakers to compliment the unit, no grills included. I forget the make of the speakers. I think they’re Vifa, not sure, but they look well built and sound nice with the Nak. Also included is an antenna, 1/8 to 1/8 aux cable, the connector cable for remote on the back of the units and a set of wireworld rca cables to get you started. The wireworld cables are of good quality and are about 1/2 meter in length. Cosmetically, both units look good, but do have the occasional nicks, scuffs and scratches but nothing major. Overall, It’s a very nice looking mini system with vey good sound quality by Nakamichi. The weight of everything included is about 35 lbs boxed. It will be carefully packed when shipped.
