Only 100 of each car were produced. This car is number 38 of the Joint Line Series and NSC special run number 04-67. In 1918 the USRA combined the tracks between Denver and Pueblo to form the Joint Line. "Husted" is the 8th in a series honoring the trains and stations of the Joint Line. Husted, located about 10 miles south of the high point on the Palmer Divide, was important for the storage and maintenance of helper engines stationed there. Husted was named for Calvin R. Husted who built early sawmills in the region. The car is a Rio Grande triple hopper manufactured in June 1966 by Bethlehem Steel's Johnstown Plant. The car is painted black with white printing.
