This wood has been hand selected from literally hundreds of pieces to ensure high quality. You can place it direct into your tank and anchor it to a rock, or presoak it until it water-logs. Once it is water-logged it will sink without the need for a rock or anchor. This process can take as little as 1 day or weeks depending upon the density of the wood. This is natural wood and may release harmless tannins into the water. Depending on the size of your aquarium this can "tint" your aquarium water a natural light brown color. You can lessen this effect by presoaking the wood in a bucket for a couple weeks, or as long as it takes for the tannins to bleed out. With regular water changes they will eventually go away. The tannins are actually a great benefit to many soft water fish and can also help stimulate breeding.
