In its stock form, the Boss DS-1 suffers from a harsh, undefined tone. I upgrade many circuit components to add richness, clarity and fidelity to the sound. The difference between my modified pedal and a stock unit is impressive! I call this the "Marshall in a box" due to the improved, smooth, tube-like sound. The gain structure after the mod can go from a milder overdrive to all-out balls to the wall distortion! Lastly, I add a bright LED and upgraded knobs in your choice of color. Still not convinced? I guarantee my work until the end of time! That's right - if you should ever encounter an issue with the craftsmanship on my modifications or repairs, I will repair or replace free of charge!
