Description: United Speaker was established in 1955 by William Hecht, the inventor of both the soft dome tweeter and dome midrange driver. United Speaker manufactured speakers for Fisher, McIntosh, MCS (JC Penney), and others. United Speaker later became known as Phase Technology in 1981 when they left New Jersey and built a state of the art manufacturing facility in Florida. This black midrange cage with gaskets and trim ring in very rare black came from an MCS 8228 cabinet and are hard to find parts. I have two but this listing is for one only. I have a horde of spare parts for my MCS United Speaker and NEC model speakers and will be selling other spare drivers as well as a few pair of MCS and Phase Tech speakers from my personal collection. My wife says sell anything I haven't used in the last few years. I told her go through her jewelry box and closets, do the same thing and leave me alone. Vintage audio equipment is sold as is with no warranties or returns. Any issues or problems with any equipment will be clearly described in the listing.
