Description: Vintage 1950s Sears Harmony House Melmac "Talk of the Town" Creamer Offered here is a true "Talk of the Town" creamer. Sold by Sears Department Stores during the early 1950s, "Talk of the Town" dinnerware was made of thick, heavy-weight melmac and featured square plates, saucers, and bowls. In keeping with this angular shape, the creamer offered here has a rectangular form, measuring 6" long from handle to spout, 3-3/4" wide, (actual opening is 5 by 3-3/4 inches) and 2-1/4" tall at the highest point. Molded into the creamer's 2-3/8 by 2-1/8-inch underside is this raised maker's mark:HARMONY HOUSE REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. "TALK OF THE TOWN" MELMACThis vintage creamer is in remarkably well-preserved condition, having a smooth and glossy exterior showing absolutely no scratches or rubbing. It has no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, burns, or scorch marks. Tilting the creamer to the light, I found the creamer's interior bottom has very fine, light scratches that are clean and unstained. Although exceptionally clean when found, this item has been carefully hand washed and towel dried, then safely stored in our pet-free, smoke-free home, and will arrive ready to use.
