Description: Maxfield Parrish’s “Atlas” - Original Print, Frame & Glass. Image is 9 1/4”x 11 1/2”; outermost Frame dimensions are 12 1/2”x 15 1/2”. Stunning color and excellent condition. MP signature not discernible in bottom left corner due to coloration. Atlas was originally painted for, and appeared as the color frontispiece in the May 16, 1908 issue of Collier’s Magazine featuring Greek Mythology II, issued as this print the same year and also appeared as an illustration in Hawthorne’s 1910 1st Edition of ‘ A Wonder Book And Tanglewood Tales’ and several subsequent editions. It is backed with acid-free backing, new hardware, dustcover and bump-ons, August, 2024 and ready to hang. Note: The first 11 photos are taken without glass to avoid reflection/glare issue; photos 13, 14, 15 & 16 after completion of project. Just doesn’t get much better.
