Description: Mary Lawrence Original Fine Art Triple Pink Rose Hand Drawing In Frame. This is a brilliant work of art created by a woman who was considered the best floral artist of her time. When it comes to her etchings, they simply don't compare to an original copy such as this. The details and colors are so realistic and vibrant. It looks like the flowers are popping off the paper. I did a good bit of research a while back trying to figure out exactly where this piece is from and couldn't seem to pin it down. During my past research, I thought I discovered this exact image in her first published series, "A collection of roses from nature." But now it seems like it disappeared, or I didn't look through the right resources this time around. If this image is in the series, I'm assuming this is one of the first copies created. The different sets and types of works she did aren't easily accessible to the public, That being said, the info I'm able to gather is rather limited. The subject of various art types and or printing/etching methods in general are so complex I can't determine the facts relating to this creation without years of hands-on experience. The ground (paper) it's self is pretty unusual. I haven't come across any that are on this soft textured green material w/ the tape backing or ones that have no title or description present. I'm not entirely sure what mediums were used. Maybe an expert can tell simply by reviewing the photos but I certainly can't. It reminds me of something that's in-between a charcoal and a water color. In some ways it even seems like a print but it's a different kind of technique I haven't had the chance to study yet. All I know for sure is that the visualization of this piece is much more intense and emotional in comparison to others. If someone comes across this and has additional information about the specifics, please let me know. I was saving this this piece for a while because I couldn't find all the information to properly evaluate it. I think it's time to just list it without knowing. I mentioned that it's unsigned. The only reason I'm aware of what it is is due to the fact of when I originally received it, it came in a folder that had one of her rose plate designs on the cover. Like I stated, I don't know exactly what this is, but I know it's something special and probably semi rare or even one of a kind. I don't question the authenticity either because of where I got it. My friends dad is a hoarder and has been collecting antiques all his life. I used to buy random boxes off him all the time and nearly every time we do another deal I end up finding a item that is rather muesem worthy, incredibly rare, or something that even uncovers lost or forgotten history pertaining to whatever the item might be. It's a beautiful piece, personally one of my favorite rose designs I saw of hers. I would make a great addition to any collection. It's in an unworthy frame at this time, but it's the only one I had available. The frame measures 17"X14.5" and the artwork itself is 11.5"X9.5". I'm open to all offers so if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. Thanks for looking.
