This signed as well as signature stamped piece 34/50 limited edition created in 1986 "Rumberries" of two adorable Fairies enjoying their harvest of rumberries is 8x6in. for the artwork & 12x9in. with matting. Hand written details by MHR verso (see picture). It is in excellent condition, the colors remain stunningly vibrant & it has been covered in plastic the entire time. You may wish to change out the plastic covering & there is minimal wear to the matting corners. MHR captured beautifully the details in her playful & imaginative pieces. Mary Hanson-Roberts lived in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. where she recently passed away December 2020. Her use of Ink, Colored Pencil & Watercolor make for her superb intricately whimsical pieces with beautiful coloring throughout. She wrote, co-wrote, & illustrated many books & is extremely well known for her contribution to the world of Tarot. She was part of the furry art scene (specializing in anthropomorphic animals) with her wonderful colored pencil drawings of Dragons, Kittens, & more. She was featured in Furrlough with her long-running serial “Here Comes a Candle” as well as contributing to fanzines & comic books like Centaurs, Gatherum, Huzzah & Women in Fur. She worked with esteemed Sci-Fi-Fantasy author Andre Norton to illustrate her books such as Serpents Tooth, High Hallack & Estcarp Cycle part of the Witch World Series. Mary Hanson-Roberts was also was the illustrator for Andre Norton’s intricate Witch World Maps as well as post cards for Andre Norton.
