Description: Available for sale is an exceptional example of the popular whimsical British Majolica style earthenware depictions of monkeys. Here two monkeys are carrying a giant clam through a floral jungle. The elaborately shaped and glazed giant clam forms a large cup. The glaze is very well done, the work itself is sturdy and will make a pleasant decor item, dish for knick knacks/keys or simply as an artistic ceramic sculpture. There is some crazing due to age and two minor chips at the base as shown in the photos. This piece is signed impressed on the base and still has it's sales sticker and a gold "China" sticker.
