Some prefer wood backer because it is thicker than paper backer and may cover minor surface imperfections better and may bond better, but both products work well. Backer color may vary. Most photos are close up views and may be of other sizes. Some photos are wet with water or show finished wood (darker) so the color and grain can be shown more accurately as it may be under finish. Mahogany will darken quite a bit when wet or finished. This product is unfinished. Ships rolled in long narrow box with application instructions. Raw plain veneer with no backing is about 1/32”-1/42”. How to cut: generally cut with a razor knife or similar tools. How to apply: Paper-backed and wood-backed veneers are generally applied with contact cement. Raw plain veneer is applied with white or yellow wood glue and must have pressure applied while drying. How to finish: most any conventional finishing products can be used with veneer that is applied correctly.
