Description: Lot of Seven TOPPS 1957 Football Cards: Donovan, Groza, Blanda, Robustelli +++ #3 - Mike McCormack - 4 years Pro at this point, spent 30 years in NFL as a player and Coach [5 teams], plus another 15 as an Executive. McCormack played a key role in helping his teammate and legendary running back Jim Brown become one of the dominant players in the game, and Mike was rewarded with 6 selections to the Pro Bowl. Hall of Fame in 1984. #11 - Roosevelt Brown - 5 years Pro, Lineman of the Year in 1956 while helping Frank Gifford and the NY Giants win the NFL Championship game. Hall of Fame in 1975. #23 - Don Chandler - His Rookie card. 2 years Pro. He once kicked a 90-yard punt against the San Francisco 49ers in 1965. #26 - Lou Groza - 12 years Pro at this point. He set all the records later broken by the next guy on this list. [The right-side picture here is the very same shot as on Lou's 1955 Bowman card!] He had the "Lou Groza Rule" named for him in 1950, which banned the use of artificial kicking aids. Hall of Fame in 1974. #31 - George Blanda - 9 years Pro [on his way to 26 years], 3rd highest scorer in the NFL in 1956. Hall of Fame in 1981 [1st eligible year]. #61 - Art Donovan - 8 years Pro - Saw him on a late night talk show once, where he explained why he lived pretty much on delicatessen cold cuts. Made it to age 89, bless him. Hall of Fame in 1968. #71 - Andy Robustelli - 6 years Pro. Check our other listings for Andy's 1955 Topps All-American card to see him in his college playing days! Hall of Fame in 1971. Very nice cards with a bit of age and handling, no serious detractions. =============================== The "make offer" feature is not activated. All cards in our listings come from original owners who purchased them at shows in the 1980s, or in packs at earlier dates. We only sell ungraded cards, because we feel the decision of where and when to grade belongs specifically to the next owner. Therefore all the cards chosen to be listed [even though they may have small inevitable detractions] will have enough special virtues to warrant this selection for the spotlight. Scans of the cards with a dark background were done with the scanner top open, those with a white background had the top closed. Any perceived variations are due to the picture editing program. Please view carefully the photo images provided, they are of the actual item(s) in the listing. Please ask any questions prior to purchase. No foreign sales, no returns.
