Description: Loet Vanderveen Bronze Two-Tone Lion Art Sculpture. This is a stunning piece. Measures approximately 5” long x 3.75” tall x 1.75” wide. A very heavy piece 1.9 lbs. Condition is good, light wear, gold/brass color could be polished. Engraved LOET numbered 1158/2500. Created by Loet Vanderveen (1921-2015), a listed artist born in Rotterdam, Holland. He grew up near a zoo which inspired his work creating animal sculptures. Vanderveen moved to New York, where he studied under Fong Chow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. During the 1960s, he moved to Big Sur, California where he had a studio.
