Description: Very nice copy of the original 1961 pressing of violinist Leonid Kogan playing Prokofiev’s Concerto No. 2, Tchaikovsky’s Serenade Melancolique, and Saint-Saens’ Havanaise, on Monitor MC-2051. The disc has a couple of light superficial scuffs but plays flawlessly and just beautifully. I don’t hear a single tiny tick. Really a beautiful recording, as well. Monitor is underrated sometimes. This record sounds just incredible. The cover has a bit of light wear, mainly at the edges and corners. The top edge is split just a bit in the center. Still quite strikingly clean overall. I have to say it also smells slightly of mildew. None to be seen anywhere, and certainly not on the disc! But it is smellable. Just a little. A beautiful playing copy anyway. One of his great recordings, and this is the only way to hear it! It has never been reissued!
