King's Yellow was a finer grain, more saturated version of Orpiment, which was eventually replaced by Cadmium Yellow due to being slightly safer and easier to produce. Currenty genuine King's Yellow is virtually impossible to find, although Orpiment remains moderately accessible. King's Yellow is a transparent canary yellow color with a beautiful saturation.
