Kato 2011 JNR Steam Locomotive c55, n scale, ships from the USA

Description: the c55 class was a mid 1930s design targeted for service on the sub trunk passenger routes..........62 locomotives were built between 1935 and 1937 by kisha seizo, hitachi, kawasaki and mitsubishi before the ministry of railways mandated extensive engineering changes.......the modifications were so extensive that the ministry authorized a new class creation - c57- as the 63rd locomotive was constructed...the last c55 left JNR service in 1975..... i acquired this c55 from an extremely small model train reseller in japan who averred that the model was "in good condition".......upon arrival the c55 appeared pristine.....the shell was pristine; the wheel sets were clean.....on my standard test run, the locomotive performed beautifully........n scale factored running speed were achieved at 25% on the rheostat; operation in both directions is smooth and consistent......the head lamp is comparatively vibrant considering its pre chip led design..........for the accessories, coupler alternatives for the front end, number boards, and the main whistle are present, awaiting a new owner's ministrations.......instructions in japanese with pictures are available..... these post introduction of head lamp pre core less motor kato designs - 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2013-1, 2014, 2015 - have aged beautifully - real gems......
