Description: John Freind (1675-1728), FRS, medical doctor, 58 mm memorial medal by Ferdinand de St Urbain (1658-1738). Freind was the personal physician of the Princess of Wales (Caroline of Ansbach, wife of the future George II) and also served as MP for Launceston in Cornwall (1725-6), although as a politician he was controversial for his Jacobite sympathies, despite his closeness to the Royal Family. about EF, a few marks on the reverse.
