KENNEDY ABOARD THE PRESIDENTIAL YACHT U.S.S. SEQUOIA. The fine china saucer measures just under 6.0" and is emblazoned with the Presidential Seal in platinum with platinum trim. The matching teacup measures approx. 2.25" x 3.5" and features the Presidential Seal in platinum with platinum trim. Both the teacup and saucer are in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or damage, and show only slight wear, consistent with age and use. The teacup and saucer come from the personal collection of famed Presidential Historian and White House Collector RALEIGH DEGEER AMYX, who amassed the largest collection of original White House china in private hands. Amyx obtained the teacup and saucer directly from LILLIAN ROGERS PARKS, devoted JFK staff member who worked in the White House for decades and was beloved by several U.S. Presidents. The cup and saucer accompanied by a vintage White House card containing a detailed, dated description written and hand-signed by Mrs. Parks.
