Description: Magnificent and substantial Jennings Brothers Art Deco golfer ashtray. Signed JB and numbered -- 1613 -- in the typical Jennings Brothers style. Incredibly rare -- first we've seen and our research failed to turn up another example. White metal with a silver finish -- possibly silver plate, though not identified as such. Heavy -- just under a pound @ approximately 15 ounces; measures approximately 4.5 inches by 5 inches wide, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick. Relief image of a golfer at full swing. Though intended for use as an ashtray, would also make a terrific trinket dish, paperweight, etc. Estate find, with wear and some light scratches appropriate to age. Very nice vintage patina, or could possibly be polished (we didn't try). See photos for more information and condition.
