Description: Quite a unique design on this cloisonne vase. It appears the butterfly is breaking the dimensions of time and space, leaving behind a trail of flowers and sparkly ginbari swirls. The ground is a forest green speckled with black, with tight, looping coils. There is some pitting, a tiny dab for touch up (see center of second to last photo for a dollop of enamel), and a slight flat spot (see last photo). I have not seen this design before. An all in all lovely example of early Japanese cloisonne. Measures 6 inches high.
