Description: This is a 1991 Ibanez RG 560 that has been customized. The body has been charged so that now it is configured like an RG 570 ( the 560 was an HSS and the 570 was an HSH) but with a maple instead of basswood body because I prefer the tonal difference. The body is from a 1993 EX 270 ( because that is the only year Ibanez made a square heel 24 fret Maple body). Maple is a hard wood with a bright tone and good sustain. Maple guitars have a punchy, bright tone with a nice bite and solid maple electric guitars are more rare. Also, I changed out the original pickups (because I think they are a little muddy) and replaced them with Alnico 5 DiMarzio/IBZ pickups which sound amazing. And even though they have DiMarzio made in the USA stamped on the back I believe they are clones. Having said that, they are better than the original pickups the guitar had Also the Ibanez 5 way switch has been replaced with a 10 way switch made by Free-Way. It's a 5-Way/10-Position Pickup Switch. So you get 10 different pickup configurations instead of only 5. See Video. However I don't think the video does the tonal differences justice. This guitar is in excellent to mint condition. See pics. On the front of the guitar above my finger is a tiny fleck of a spot that must have hit something because it is a dull tiny fleck. I really had to work hard with lighting to even get a picture that shows it because it is so insignificant. Also, on the neck above my thumb. Is a line that looks like something dragged across it slightly but it is not a crack in the neck. The neck is pristine. Other than that the guitar is mint. Please note the Floyd Rose mounting holes in the back of the neck have zero cracking. A things that is common in many guitars of this age. I mention all these tiny things just in the interest of full disclosure. The guitar is strung with new DR Neon White luminescent strings and no they don't glow in the dark. But hit them with a spot light and they really pop. These are handmade strings manufactured in the USA. They sound fantastic. The case is an old bullet proof tank of a case that has a few battle scars on the outside and is included. So if you've always wanted to play on a made in Japan neck that has a bright punchy tone like no other than this is the guitar for you. Also, It's set up with low action. I'm sure you will be quite pleased with your purchase. Question? Please ask. I got the video and you can hear some of the pickup differences but most of them are subtle.
