Description: Up for grabs is a BSR Red Mountain Series #7 Skillet produced from the 1930's -1940's.Birmingham Stove & Range Co has been around since 1902 and are known for their durability and excellent cooking properties. Stripped to bare metal ad restored using a food-grade lye bath and electrolysis. Seasoned 5 rounds at high heat with a custom blend of high smoke point oils. This piece sits perfectly FLAT with no cracks, chips, rust, or repairs. The cooking surface has a buttery smooth surface. It is still potentially a 80+ year-old piece of cast iron so there are some utensil marks on the surface but factory milling is still quite visible. See photos, and feel free to ask questions. As with any cast iron, the cooking surface will continue to darken and season over time and with use. This piece will outlive all of us and may become a cherished family heirloom.
