Description: On offer, we have an original drawing by Harry Carmean. This is a portrait of a nude seated man signed in red "Carmean 75". On white paper, this measures 22" X 17". About the artist: Harry Carmean (1922 –2022) was an American painter known for his figurative paintings based on the work of the old masters. The ideas of the Renaissance, Baroque, Mannerist and Impressionist art can all be seen in his work to varying degrees. He was renown for practicing a form of drawing known as "draughstmanship" in which specific art ideas are consistently applied throughout a drawing. He was an instructor at Art Center College of Design from 1952 through 1996 and taught thousands of students. (Wikipedia). This drawing is from his estate. I believe this is in excellent condition. The drawing is very bold and clear. The paper has been handled and has some wrinkles. The edges have wear and there are holes at the top from when this was once pinned on a wall. It has been stored rolled with other drawings so there is some charcoal on the back. As I am not an expert on art, please see my photographs for more description. This is from my friend who collects everything and is starting to part with a few of his treasures. You may enjoy viewing his other drawings by Harry Carmean I have on separate listings at this time. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
