Description: This is a gorgeous handcrafted quilt pieced with traditional "Flying Kite" blocks and featuring Japanese crane print fabric. This quilt is a standard size for Full sized beds. It measures approximately 102" long by 84" wide. It weighs over 5 pounds. This quilt is handmade with stitching done on the sewing machine. We do not know the fiber content of the fabric or the batting; it is probably made of cotton or a mix of cotton and polyester. The top of the quilt was carefully pieced in the "Flying Kite" pattern, with the pieces lined up to create a kaleidoscope effect on each pinwheel. The quilting is done in an organic looking free motion pattern.The main fabric is a Japanese print featuring cranes in flight, and scattered florals over a picturesque landscape, in muted shades of ivory, tan, brown, burgundy, green, and blue. The background/contrast fabric has a leaf print in a dark green that coordinates well with the green in the main fabric. The quilt is then bordered in variegated tan, and abstract dark brown fabrics. The binding is the main fabric. The back of the quilt is a tan and light brown leaf design batik print. We believe this quilt has never been used. It came to us with small numbers written in the corners of the triangles on the quilt top from the quilting process, so we have washed the quilt with unscented detergent. There may be a little dust/dirt on the quilt from handling.
