Asking $120 OBO. See my page for additional plates from this set; I have several available and would be willing to negotiate a price for a purchase of multiple from this set. Some additional information on the company and design: The Fratelli Mari Company was founded in 1932. Over the years, thanks to the work of talented artists of the area, the company has made a name for itself throughout the world, and has won recognition at various exhibitions and competitions. Today, Fratelli Mari is one of the most prestigious companies of Deruta and its collection includes a great variety of classical and modern pieces. Traditional forms/shapes with their timeless beauty account for a major part of the product line, all handmade at the Mari factory, offering one of the best examples of the majolica tradition. In the Middle Ages, Siena was partitioned into seventeen neighborhoods. Each one was represented by an unique emblem and a colorful banner. These neighborhoods developed a tradition of fierce rivalry that continues today as The Palio, a competitive bareback horse race that takes place on July 2 and August 16 every year in the city's main piazza Piazza del Campo in honor of the Virgin Mary. The Contrade are: Eagle, Snail, Wave, Panther, Forest, Tortoise, Owl, Unicorn, Shell, Tower, Ram, Caterpillar, Dragon, Giraffe, Porcupine, She-Wolf, Goose (aquila, bruco, chiocciola, civetta, drago, giraffa, istrice, leocorno, lupa, montone, nicchio, oca, onda, pantera, selva, tartufa, torre.) The location of the Bruco Contrada in Siena is situated to the north of the Piazza del Campo. Traditionally, its residents worked in the silk trade. Bruco's symbol is a crowned caterpillar crawling on a rose. Its colours are green and yellow, trimmed with blue. Bruco is one of only four nobile (noble) contrade; its title was earned in 1369 by its people's bravery in helping to defeat Charles IV, and consolidated in 1371 when they led the revolt to replace the Sienese council with a people's government. Its patron Saint is Madonna (Visitation of the Saintest Mary) and the Titulary feast is on 2 July. Its motto is "Come rivoluzion suona il mio nome" (As revolution sounds my name).
