Description: Hallicrafters S-38B Shortwave Ham CW / AM Amateur Radio Receiver. This receives 540 KC (KHz) to 32 MC (MHz) on 4 bands. I received stations on all bands with a 20 ft. wire, a longer wire will work better. The following work was performed : New volume control and line switch was installed.Tubes were tested and replaced as needed. All paper and electrolytic capacitors and out of tolerance replaced with modern replacements.All switches and controls cleaned and lubricated.New pilot light bulb installed and receiver was aligned to factory specification. Rewired for safety with polarized line cord and safety capacitor between line and chassis.Cabinet was repainted and new decals installed with cabinet clear coated to protect the decals.
