Description: Life-size Great Horned Owl Wood Carving. Condition is "New". Free Shipping. I carved this Great Horned Owl from select-grade, high-quality, kiln-dried northern pine. I installed Tohicken glass eyes and cast pewter feet. Then I painted the great horned owl with acrylic paints, applied a very thin coat of clear matte acrylic spray paint and installed it on its wooden base. The Great Horned Owl itself is about 18 1/2” long as measured from the tip of its tail to the farthest tip of its head. The Owl is about 7 1/2” at its widest point. The base is irregularly shaped and is about 10 1/2” wide and about 7” deep. The total height of the Great Horned Owl on its base is about 33 1/4” high. The Great Horned Owl and its base will be shipped together but with the owl removed from the base. This is a much safer way to ship the carving, and the owl is easily mounted back on its base by simply slipping the 3/8” diameter pegs on the bottom of its feet into the 2 mating holes drilled into the wooden stump. NOTE: The owl will be shipped insured for its full sales price, which means the delivery carrier will require an adult signature before leaving the item.
