DVD was released in 2006 - and it is truly a Grateful Dead time-capsule in a box - a Pure-Treasure ! This is " The Tomorrow Show " featuring Tom Snyder's " Electric Kool-Aid Talk Show ". Tom does run ( or tries his best to run ) this Hilarious Show ! which features not only The Grateful Dead ( Jerry Garcia - Bob Weir - Phil Lesh - Billy Kreutzman - Mickey Hart & Brent Mydland ) - but also with Ken Kesey ! - and then Dr. Timothy Leary ! It is hard to decide what is the best-part of this incredible 90 minute DVD, but ... I ( always being G.D. Live Music ! ' biased ' ) would probably have to say this >>>>> A Four ( 4 ) Song Acoustic Performance by The Grateful Dead ( Pro-Shot ! ) here on 5/7/81 >>> which includes On The Road Again - Cassidy - Dire Wolf - & Deep Elem Blues !!!! And, as it would probably go without stating ... the Mood of the Gang is Very Up-Beat ! And Wow !! are they Musically ' tight ' - just Amazing !! Live stuff . . . But get this - Tom Snyder tries to take control on a semi-serious & informative interview with Garcia - Weir - Kreutzman & Hart - but Kesey is included too for this interview - and he antagonizes this Gang of Pranksters to just rule the roost and run this Show - basically turning it into a live comedy stage bursting with laughter from all !!?!! I mean here Snyder is asking Jerry why Bobby looks so much younger then him ! - and meanwhile Kesey is explaining the Psychedelic Experience ! as a " Trade-Off " !!! Wow !?!?! I think whomever decided to pull this one from the Tomorrow Show vault & release it professionally deserves a Deadhead & Keseyland " Steal Your Feather ! " Medal of Honor - because it is just sheer Grate!-ness ! It is a total " Must-Have " for all those who love The Grateful Dead their Historic-roots - and the scene surrounding. Not to mention ... the Dead are just into their 6th Show on the '81 Early-Summer Tour so their acoustic-chops are just nice & Tight ! on this performance. This performance actually occurred on 5/7/81 - and was smack-dab in the ' middle ' of a smoking-hot ( & now Legendary ! ) 3-night stand at the Nassau Colisuem in Uniondale, NY. In fact, the performance the night before ( 5/6/1981 ) was officially enshrined as " Dick's Picks #13 " by Dick Latvala way back in 1999 ! Also, as many know & all should - the 5/4/81 Philly Spectrum show was also a colossal-night of Grateful Dead as well. In other words, you could argue that this particular interview could have happened at no better of a time then it did. Buy this one Fans and I assure you that you likely will never want to part with it ... ENJOY !!!!! And prepare to get your " laugh-on " too !!! Simply-Fabulous . . . The DVD ( 1-DVD ) is in Very Good/Like New condition, with only some faint/light marks on the playing surface (cosmetic-only). Liner Notes ( Outside & Inside Insert Cards ) are in Very Good/Like New condition overall - with a bar code scratch mark (1 1/4") on the Outside Insert which severs the plastic of the CD Case (please see photos). DVD Case ( 1-DVD ) is in overall Very Good condition, with the bar code scratch mentioned (please see photos) . Please see all photos provided.
