These secure the Header Collectors to the Exhaust Flange. Most headers only use 3 nuts per side, but some will use 4 nuts per side. These are also used for the Drive Train and Engine Brackets (example: Z-Bar, A/C or Alt Bracket, Trans Dipstick Tube, Cross Members, Motor Mounts, etc.) Lock nuts won't loosen up from engine/drive train vibrations.
