Description: HUM 278 "Chick Girl" - TMK-6 (Special 50th Anniversary Backstamp) Diameter 7.625" This is the Fifteenth Edition of the Annual plate series that was produced between 1971 and 1995. A total of 25 plates, one each year was made. 1971 was the 100th Anniversary of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik. The annual plate series was issued in commemoration of that occasion. At the end of the year of each release, all molds were destroyed. Like every charming "M.I. Hummel" collectible, the bas-relief plates are created completely by hand. Each plate measures 7.5" in diameter (this one is slightly larger), has the "M.I. Hummel" signature, and has a special inscription on the back affixed by blue decal. Each plate has the year, number in series, Hummel Number and trademark. This one is labeled "NOT TO BE USED FOR FOOD W. GOEBEL PORZELLANFABRIK HAND PAINTED 1935-1985 50 JAHRE M.I. HUMMEL - FIGUREN M.I. HUMMEL 15th ANNUAL PLATE 1985 RODENTAL, WEST GERMANY Hum 278 TMK-6 1973". Note that this plate has the special 50th Anniversary Special Backstamp. (1935-1985) Oversized - Hummel plate exceeds the catalog's listed width of 7.5" by an eighth of an inch, measuring about 7.625" in diameter. Fifteenth Edition in a series of 25 Anniversary Plates produced between 1971-1995. (1985) Limited Production - Quantities produced were limited to one year of production and all molds were destroyed at the end of the year. Has original White "Goebel Collectors' Club" Pamphlet included. Has colorful M.I. Hummel "The Golden Anniversary Album" Pamphlet included. Has colorful "Collectibles" thick Pamphlet included. Box has harder to find Goebel 412 Western Germany Label on backside. Closed Edition.
