By 1948 Gibson changed to a round neck on this model. This one is clearly 47 as it was the first year made and only year with a square neck. Features include the original Gibson single-coil pickup, guitar shaped body with a bound top, square neck with great string spacing and an awesome vintage sunburst finish!The strings are brand new as of 6/30/24 and are GHS “LAP E” E Tuning Lap Steel Strings. The electroinics sound great.This instrument produces a very clear sound with plenty of output and sustain. The tone control is very responsive and perfect for obtaining a warmer sound!Condition: There are some great photos here to see the condition. Overall very good condition but please see all the pics from all angles. The case has 2 hinges on the back that are present but torn off so this can be repaired. The front 3 latches all work properly. Just need to repair the back two hinges as shown.Made in the USA stamped on rear in small letters Body: Solid mahogany body with a bound top in sunburst finish. Nickel tailpiece/bridge with a gold plastic control panel and pickup cover. Dual speed Bakelite control knobs. Cool metallic gold undercoat on string guard control plate. Neck: Only Year with the “Square mahogany neck” with a black fingerboard with gold frets and fret position markers. 2 ¼” metal nut. Three-on-a-strip nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons, 22.5” scale length.Pickups/Electronics: Original Gibson single-coil pickup with master volume and tone controls.
